- How do I decide if I should begin treatment with you or with another therapist?
When choosing a therapist, it is important to know that you have the right to shop around and ask your potential therapist questions in order to determine whether they are a good match for you.
If possible, try to schedule a consultation session to determine if you feel comfortable working with him or her. Interestingly, studies have shown the therapist-client relationship to be one of the most important variables in determining treatment success. So my message to you is...find the right person for YOU!
- Are the services provided reimbursable through insurance?
The services provided by me are often reimbursable through your insurance coverage. I bill clients directly. Each bill includes the necessary information required by insurance companies. These bills can then be submitted to insurance companies for reimbursement. I do not belong to any managed care plans, and therefore will be considered an "out-of-network" provider.
- How do I find out how much my insurance company will reimburse me for your service?
I recommend calling the company and asking them how much they will reimburse for the specific service you are seeking (i.e. individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment). Be sure to ask them the percentage they will reimburse, if there is a deductible, and what their maximum allowable is.
